Teams will meet 1-4pm on April 6th across the Charlotte area to complete volunteer projects and compete for the coveted, locally-made, blown glass globe awards—and bragging rights!
- The Spirit Award – Given to the team that shows the most spirit and excitement about participating.
- Teamwork Award – Given to the team that works best as a unit on the work site.
- Best Overall – Given to the team with the most impressive overall impact.
- The Storytelling Award – At the Celebration, teams have 90 seconds to share their experience through any form of creative expression they’d like!
- Best Picture/Best Video – Teams will submit their best picture and 15 second video from the event for these prizes.
Judging – Each location will have a panel of 7-8 local, well-known sustainability leaders as judges. A judge will join your team onsite for a portion of the project to engage with and observe your team to help determine awards. At the end of the project, your team will be evaluated by the project host and results will be shared with the judges.
Image Sharing – On your Team Registration, you submitted an individual who will be responsible for collecting and submitting the best photo and video via the submission form. We will email this contact before the Challenge Day to submit photos through the form or via email. Please label your submission by company name. For the sake of judging in a timely manner, media must be uploaded by 4:30pm the day of the Challenge.
This event allows the teams to reconvene, hear about each other’s experiences, and celebrate impact! Employees will be able to register in the Corporate Challenge Volunteer Registration form.
Storytelling – Each team is encouraged to participate in the storytelling competition. Teams will have 90 seconds to share their experience in the Challenge through slides, video, song, poetry, or other creative ideas – There is no limitation to the story competition except the 90 second rule!
Awards – Judges will deliberate on award winners and present in Charlotte at the Celebration and in the Triangle at the Earth Day Breakfast. Award winners will be listed on the Corporate Earth Day page on our website and shared on social media.
