Welcome to the EarthShare Engage App!

Through this mobile App, hosted by Joulebug, you’ll be directed to climate conscious actions you can take and commitments you can make in your daily life. You will first calculate your carbon footprint, then log actions through the week, and see and share your impact in real time.

Participants will receive a report on the collective impact made during NC Climate Week at the end of the program.

Learn the App

Now that you’ve joined NC Climate Week and your team, you can start learning and logging actions. When you log an action, the impact is calculated AND points are earned.  Points are for those of us motivated by a little competition.  Points will not be counted until the challenge starts, but any actions logged before this time will count towards to log limits (see more in the FAQ section below).

Watch the video below to see how to get started calculating your carbon footprint – we recommend having your latest energy bill handy to answer questions. Please note, the below video represents an IOS user. For Android users, your navigation menu will be located at the top left.

Frequently Asked Questions

EarthShare NC partners with JouleBug to host the EarthShare Engage App. Joulebug developed actions which were calibrated to present their impact on water conserved, waste diverted, and CO2 kept out of the atmosphere. A select number of climate-specific actions were created by Count Us In.

Every action has a displayed number of points, and the calculated impact of taking
that action. When the user takes the action, they can add an image and a caption, and it will be posted to the challenge news feed. Image posting is encouraged but not
required to gain points.

Yes, all actions have set limits to help balance typical usage and healthy competition.
They also are intended to help people branch out and explore other Actions vs.
logging the same action over and over throughout the day. If you’re hitting these
limits, wait a bit and try again, remembering to try and log as you complete actions
throughout your day.

Yes, users will be able to see their points and impact totals updated instantly on their
profile. Their ranking in the challenge will be instantly updated on the challenge
dashboard. User scores are averaged into the team score.

All teams will see their scores on the leaderboard in the challenge tab, and rankings will change instantly as the challenge progresses. A final cumulative impact report will be shared with companies at the conclusion of the challenge.

There is not a minimum or cap on the number of employees that can participate from any one company. There is a suggested minimum of 7 employees per team.
