What’s Driving Climate Change?

Join Sustain Charlotte for a very special event as we hear from Charlotte’s youth about their concerns for the future. Charlotte Lab School intern Zoe Brodeur will share the research she did with Sustain Charlotte to explain how transportation and land-use decisions being made in Charlotte are impacting the climate. We’ll also hear from youth climate activist Shruti Agrawal and the City of Charlotte’s Chief Climate & Resiliency Officer Sarah Hazel as we explore ways to fight climate change through individual, government, and collaborative efforts.

Highlighting this adorable bog turtle for #wildlif Highlighting this adorable bog turtle for #wildlifewednesday with @ncwildlifefed • • • 🐢🌄🐢 Bog turtles - a federally threatened species - have begun nesting. Unlike most turtles, this rare species doesn't excavate a nest in soil, but conceals its small egg clutch in a moss, grass or sedge tussock. They reside in wetlands along the Appalachian Mountains into the Blue Ridge Escarpment and parts of the North Carolina Piedmont. Their population has dwindled because of habitat loss and fragmentation, invasive species, land development and the illegal pet trade. Follow Sprout Link to read our blog to learn about conservation efforts to help bog turtles and other species.
