NC Climate Week – Call for Speakers, Collaborators, and Entries

This September, EarthShare NC is bringing Climate Week to North Carolina, an initiative program designed to accelerate the adoption of scalable climate solutions. The event is for   Individuals, nonprofits, businesses, and local governments and features a week of free virtual learning sessions, action-focused consultation workshops, and a Summit dedicated to fostering collaboration at all levels.

The urgency of climate action is underscored by the United Nations’ call for a 45% reduction in global greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 to mitigate the worst impacts of climate change, a crucial step towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. But how do we achieve this ambitious goal?

Everyone plays a role in the transition. Governments must enact policies that make climate solutions accessible and affordable and invest in clean energy jobs and infrastructure. Businesses must make swift reductions in carbon emissions and transition towards sustainable and ethical practices. Individuals can contribute by making green consumer choices and investments.

We know the solutions, but the challenge lies in bridging the gap between awareness and action. According to Kite Insight’s Every Job is a Climate Job, knowledge is the biggest obstacle to overcome. While companies have clear climate commitments, they don’t have a clear path; and while employees are eager to act, they don’t have the knowledge base to effect change.

NC Climate Week aims to address these obstacles by providing participants with a robust knowledge base, matching the desire to act with tangible solutions, and facilitating collaboration among individuals, businesses, and government leaders to adopt and advance climate solutions.

Call for Participants

NC Climate Week is a space for all who want to be part of climate solutions. To ensure the event reflects the breadth of expertise and perspectives, we invite participation from nonprofits, businesses and local governments. Please share a carbon reduction initiative you think would be beneficial to highlight during the program and your comments. Submit your ideas here by July 1st. We look forward to hearing from you.
