Step Rehab at the Valley Paddle Access/MST/HRT
Thu. April 30th, 9am – 11:30am

Please register with your company and indicate whether you will attend the Lunch Celebration.

By registering to volunteer, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the EarthShare NC Event Terms.

  • What will I be doing?

We will decrease the rise of the existing steps by adding additional steps to the structure. The work involves moving gravel and backfilling the steps to make them significantly easier for hikers and kayakers to navigate. Additionally, we will install water diversions to prevent erosion and water from running down the stairs.

  • Where do I go?

930 Indian Valley Drive, Burlington, NC 27217

  • Where can I park?

Limited parking is available near the worksite, with additional parking located a short walk away at the golf course parking lot which is within eyesight of the worksite.

  • What should I bring/wear?

Please bring work gloves, bug repellant, water, and any food needed for the day.

  • What will be provided by the host?

We will supply all necessary tools for the job.

  • Any special considerations?

Volunteers must wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. We ask everyone to exercise caution around power tools. Work to your ability and please work closely with the team leader.

  • What if it rains?

Projects will continue in light rain. In case of heavy rain or unsafe weather, the event will be rescheduled.

  • Any more questions?

Contact your team representative for any questions leading up to the event.
For day-of questions, please contact Andrew Sam. Email: asam30035@gmail.com | Day-Of Phone: 336-263-7753

Friends of the Mountains-To-Sea Trail (FMST) is the growing community of members and volunteers who support the trail, an official unit of the North Carolina State Park System. They work statewide building and maintaining trail, encouraging communities to create new sections of trail, and helping people hike it. You can get involved and help support the trail.
Engagement Opportunities:

Volunteer events are scheduled throughout the year, and are posted on the FMST web site. Ask about ways to get involved during your volunteer project!
