River Cleanup & Invasive Removal
Fri. April 11th, 9-11:30am
Lunch Celebration: 12-2pm
Volunteers will primarily be pulling out trash including tires and other large items, and bagging up smaller trash and leaving it at the curb to be picked up. We will also be hand pulling and using weed wrenches to pull out invasive privet.
317 Omega Road, Durham NC 27712. We will meet here and walk down to the worksite along the Mountains-to-Sea Trail which is only a few hundred yards away.
There is plenty of parking along the street.
Volunteers will need to wear boots or solid shoes, wear long plants and long sleeve shirts due to thorny plants in the area. Also, bring work gloves and water.
Wheel barrows, rock bars, shovels, trash bags, work gloves, etc.
Removing trash from the river is a wet foot activity. We need a certain number of volunteers willing to get wet and get into the river!
This is a rain or shine event! In the case of inclement weather, the workday and celebration will take place on Fri. April 25th (same times).
