Grounds Maintenance

    • What will I be doing?

We will be doing grounds maintenance/beautification in preparation for our summer tour season. Likely mulching, weeding, etc.

    • Where do I go?

Duke Lemur Center, 3705 Erwin Road, Durham, NC 27705

    • Where can I park?

Participants should park in the staff parking lot.

    • What should I bring/wear?

Refillable water bottles, closed toed shoes, and clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty.

    • What will be provided by the host?

We will provide gloves, gardening tools, and access to water fountains and bathrooms.

    • Any special considerations?

No. You will sign a waiver on-site.

    • What if it rains?

Projects will continue in light rain. In case of heavy rain or unsafe weather, the rain date is Friday, May 1st, same times.

Learn More About Duke Lemur Center

A world leader in the study, care, and protection of lemurs

The Duke Lemur Center (DLC) is part of Duke University and houses the largest and most diverse collection of lemurs found outside of Madagascar. Situated on 100 acres, the DLC is a living laboratory that conducts non-invasive research and is open to the public as part of its outreach mission. The DLC also is a conservation organization conducting more than 25 years of in situ field work aimed at protecting the flora and fauna of Madagascar. With more than 200 animals across 14 species, the DLC houses the world’s largest and most diverse population of lemurs outside their native Madagascar.
