Trail Repair and Invasive Species Removal with Friends of the Mountains-To-Sea Trail!
April 13th, 1-4 pm
Friends of the Mountains-To-Sea Trail is the growing community of members and volunteers who support the trail, an official unit of the North Carolina State Park System. We work statewide building and maintaining trail, encouraging communities to create new sections of trail, and helping people hike it. This volunteer opportunity allows you to get involved and help support the trail. We will be working to remove invasive privet along a section of the NC Mountains-to-Sea Trail. This work is along the Eno River in Durham.
We will be meeting at River Forest Park, 1000 Windermere Drive in Durham. From there we will be walking down to the Mountains-To-Sea trail and will be working along the trail approximately ½ mile from the parking area.
There is plenty of parking at River Forest Park.
Participants should bring water, snacks, and work gloves if they have them.
The host will provide tools and some work gloves.
This volunteer opportunity involves hard physical work. You will need to dress appropriately for the weather and wear boots or solid shoes.
This is a rain or shine event. If the weather conditions prohibit a specific project from taking place, we will work with you and the project host to coordinate an alternate date.
