Facility Maintenance with the Durham Public Schools Hub Farm!
April 13th, 1:30-4:30 pm

  • What will I be doing?

The Hub Farm is a 30 acre outdoor learning center in Durham, NC featuring farm, forest, wetland and aquatic habitats. Our mission is to engage the DPS community in meaningful outdoor experiences. We do this through environmental education, community engagement events, and capacity building for outdoor learning across DPS. Volunteers will support the Hub Farm’s mission by building new beds in a new annual vegetable garden.

  • Where do I go?

Hub Farm, 117 Milton Rd, Durham, NC 27712

  • Where can I park?

Use “Hub Farm Visitor Parking” in Google Maps to find the right parking lot. After parking, please walk through our small gate, down the sidewalk, and meet us in the pavilion.

  • What should I bring/wear?

Participants should bring a hat, sunscreen, water bottles, and any snacks!

  • What will be provided by the host?

The Hub Farm will provide gloves, tools, and water.

  • Any special considerations?

The work will likely be very physical in nature and you will be outside at all times.

  • What if it rains?

This is a rain or shine event. If the weather conditions prohibit a specific project from taking place, we will work with you and the project host to coordinate an alternate date.
