Sanctuary and Habitat Cleanup with Carolina Tiger Rescue!
April 13th, 1-4 pm
While we cannot provide specific details about the project you’ll be working on at this time, know that it’ll be light, outdoor construction. All projects are assigned to groups based on the needs of Carolina Tiger Rescue and the progress made by other groups. Other projects performed during the EarthShare Corporate Earth Day Challenge include grounds clean-up, weed whacking, moving logs and other clean-up, digging a trench, planting trees, etc. Every workgroup begins with a 30-minute tour of the sanctuary – so you can meet some of the awesome animals you will be helping.
Carolina Tiger Rescue, 1940 Hanks Chapel Rd., Pittsboro, NC 27312
Please park in the visitors’ lot!
Participants should wear long pants and closed toe shoes. They should also bring gloves, water, and sunscreen.
Carolina Tiger Rescue will provide gloves and tools.
We have quite a few fire ants, a lot of poison ivy, and occasionally a lot of mud, so long pants, boots/sneakers are required, and long sleeve shirts are strongly suggested. Volunteers typically do gardening or other heavy lifting/hard work.
This is a rain or shine event. If the weather conditions prohibit a specific project from taking place, we will work with you and the project host to coordinate an alternate date.
Contact your team representative for any questions leading up to the event.
