5 Campout! Carolina

Campout! Carolina is an annual statewide event encouraging friends, families, churches, scout troops and community groups of all kinds to show support for North Carolina’s environment. Those who participate are encouraged to pitch a tent in their backyard or favorite North Carolina campsite, turn off or unplug non-essential electrical items, and enjoy an evening outdoors with family and friends. In October 2009, over 5,000 people from across the state participated in celebrating North Carolina's environment! Together they collectively demonstrated the importance of protecting and preserving our natural resources. Visit the Campout! Carolina website, to 'Be Counted' next year.
